Packety Pack Pack

Hello! Welcome to my blog. I am beginning to document this little adventure in my life so that friends, family, and other unintended beings can have an inside look into things as i travel along. I am not a stellar writer, but I WILL try to outwit my travel partner katie in my writing. To follow her blog as well, follow her here: http://katherinecarolineterry.blogspot.com/. I thought I had a leg up on her already by putting CAPS in my name. way more impressive.

What adventure do I speak of you might ask? China! I have not been there since 2005 and am excited to be back and visit some friends and see new parts of the country. My co-worker and great friend katie are traveling together by means of a grant that was awarded to us for research on displacement. We are teaching a new class next year at Lindblom Math and Science Academy called Culture Through Movement: China. We will, with students, examine social issues in China (mainly displacment) and investigate how artists comment and critique those issues through their art. Katie is the librarian, dance teacher and former history teacher. I am the Chinese language teacher. What are the chances of us making it through this trip alive? On a scale of 2 to 3, probably a 2.

Our travels will take us to Beijing, Chongqing, a cruise on the Yantze to Yichang, Shanghai and Hong Kong. Katie is doing additional travel in London and Guangdong. She's probably with some bloke at a pub right now. wicked!

So without further ado, welcome and hopefully I can think of some funny things to say and report along the way to make it interesting reading for you. We fly on July 13th! Stay tuned!
